Metal Music Release Friday: November 2nd, 2018

With Halloween just passed, a lot of new buzz is going around. Yet, Friday is already here with a pleathora of new Metal albums. Here are several releases to keep an eye out on:

Arkdown - The Calling

Hailing from the UK, Metalcore act Arkdown are relatively new to the Metalcore scene with their sophmore EP “The Calling”. With recent singles “Mirrors” and “Wake Up” making them sound like veterans, early reviews of the The Calling make 5 track EP sound very promising.

The sound quality is bold, the vocals are balls to the wall, and the riffs are unrelenting. It’s worth it to give these up and comers a shot.

You can find Arkdown’s “The Calling” on Spotify, Amazon Unlimited and iTunes. You can order the Limited CD and other merchandise here.

Arsis - visitant

Arsis is back after a 5 year hiatus. With founders James Malone (Necromancing The Stone) and Branden Ellis (Black Dahlia Murder) being intimate with their respective projects, Arsis was put on the backburner. That has now changed as the two have reunited to put out the Visitant LP.

This 11 track full-length is an audio assault of Heavy Metal at its finest. Each song well written, Malone’s vocals are phenomenal in front of Ellis’s technical, yet brutal axe grinding with some thunderous drumming to tie it all together. After 5 years, Arsis shows that they haven’t gone anywhere and are here to stay.

You can find Visitant on most streaming platforms or you can order a hard copy here.

Metal Blade announced that Knoxville Deathcore natives Whitechapel will release a new full-length called "“The Valley” along with a new single “Brimstone”. The sextet also announced a summer tour with Black Dahlia Murder and other great acts.

To be quite honest, “Brimstone” is a really fucking good track. The riffs are as deep and bellowing as the vocals. The breakdowns are well done in a “cooling off” fashion. Some of their best work in a while. After 2 or 3 years, Whitechapel is set to re-assert themselves in what looks like a stacked 2019. Let’s hope there is more from where this came from with The Valley.

“Brimstone” is available on most audio streaming platforms.
