Voodoo Zombie - Reviresco Review

Usually we do three picks, but today we are going to do a special feature for the new Voodoo Zombie album, Reviresco.

South American psychobilly punk act Voodoo Zombie released their third full length LP Reviresco today. Listening to the track Ezquizomortal, I can tell this is a fun album to listen to. After hearing the rest, I am glad I was not wrong. The production is flawless. The songwriting is everything you want in psychobilly punk. Once again, South America shows the rest of the world how it’s done. You have to love the spirit of the music in that region of the world not to mention Voodoo Zombie fits perfectly with the Batcave family.

Not only is the music tight and very enjoyable, but singer Katona Katrina adds the final element with her passionate and entertaining style of vocals. On songs like “Armor Psycho”, she has a lot of fun and it brings a smile to your face. Tracks like “Amarte Es Peligroso” are more laid back using acoustic guitars, but still ends up anthemic with a Violent Femmes vibe. “Extistencia Infernal” is a very catchy yet dark tune that I actually listened to twice. The album closes out with “Un Mejor Cadillac”, a short yet fun tune that you could imagine hearing in a convertible outside Las Vegas blowing through the desert.

If you like The Stray Cats, Reverend Horton Heat, or even The Kinks, then Reviresco is definitely the album for you. A nice early holiday gift from Voodoo Zombie and Batcave Records! Reviresco is available on Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube!
