Metal Music Release Friday: November 16th, 2018

It’s Friday which means we check out some new Metal music releases for the day! One we were pleasantly surprised by…

Hanging The Nihlist - “Filth” [Debut Single]

Hanging The Nihlist is: Marc Buch - Vocals, Jon Arent - Guitar, Casper Hollstein - Guitar, Berna Baki - Keys, William Ehlert - Bass, Emil Juhl - Drums

Denmark’s Hanging The Nihlist premiered their debut single “Filth” (available on most music streaming platforms) today. Things like this is always a treat because you don’t know what you are getting into. HTN brings a brutal, massive element of Melodic Deathcore, but the piano work and the vocals just adds a certain touch that makes them stand out. The vocals are very well done and very clear, the songwriting and playing is just as responsible as the lyricism for setting the apocalyptic theme of the track.

As young as they are, I was very impressed with this track. It reminded me of Cradle Of Filth, only more listenable and enjoyable. I can’t wait for their album Crow to come out (January 25th) as this debut single just leaves you wanting more. Watch the lyric video and check them out!

Amon Amarth - Pursuit Of The Vikings: 25 Years In The Storm

Amon Amarth celebrate their 25 year anniversary with an epic live album/DVD Pursuit Of The Vikings: 25 Years In The Storm and a massive 2019 Tour that kicks off in May 2019!

Amon Amarth celebrate their 25 year anniversary with an epic live album/DVD Pursuit Of The Vikings: 25 Years In The Storm and a massive 2019 Tour that kicks off in May 2019!

When it comes to Viking Metal, Amon Amarth is easily one of the first bands to come to mind. Many would say they are pioneers of the genre with their heavy, yet fun style. They have dominated the metal scene and influenced many newer acts. With Pursuit Of The Vikings: 25 Years In The Storm, they play their best tracks spanning over 25 years in one crushing live album/DVD. This is a must for any lover of the genre or even just Amon Amarth themselves. Packages available here or on most music streaming platforms.

Nita Strauss - Controlled Chaos

Nita Strauss’s Controlled Chaos is available on most music streaming platforms. You can order the ltd. vinyl here.

Best known for being Alice Cooper’s touring guitarist, her work with The Iron Maidens and Femme Fatale, and her appearances at WWE events such as Wrestlemania (playing Nakamura’s entrance, with Lzzy Hale at Evolution, and tomorrow night at the NXT Takeover:Wargames event where her track “Mariana Trench” was chosen by Triple H personally for the theme song), Nita Strauss has had a huge 2018. To top it off, she released her first solo album Controlled Chaos on Sumarian Records. The completely instrumental album showcases Strauss’s skills and proves that she is a Heavy Metal guitar prodigy along the lineage of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Dave Mustaine, and CC Deville (yes, I said it). This album is for any guitar listening enthusiast. Watch the video for a taste!

Here are some other releases out today:
